The wedding of Dr. Arthur Norman McArthur, fifth son of the late Peter McArthur, Mendagoort, Camperdown, Australia, to Millicent Elizabeth, third daughter of Mr. Wickham Noakes, of Selsdon Park, Croydon, Surrey, took place at the Parish Church, Sanderstead, on Saturday, May 12th, at half past two. The father the bride, Mr. Wickham Noakes, gave her away. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Landon Maud, Rector of Sanderstead. The bride's dress consisted of a skirt of white tucked silk lisse over a petticoat of accordion pleated chiffon, bodice of the tucked silk lisse, with transparent yoke and sleeves of tucked chiffon and handsomely trimmed with point de gaze lace, a gift of the bride's aunt; court train of embroidered lisse, tulle veil with coronet of orange blossoms; shower bouquet of white picatees. Tbe bridesmaids were Miss Lilian Noakes, sister of the bride, Miss Jean McArthur, Miss Queenie Cox, Miss Hylda Stevens, and a small niece of the bride, Miss Eileen Austen. The grown-up bridesmaids wore white silk voille, the skirts made tucks, white bolero bodices, the bolero edged with twine coloured embroidery, with deep belts of panne velvet, with three shades of hy- drangeas; fancy white crinoline hats with bunches of hydrangea, turned up at the side with black velvet leaves with paste buckles ; posies of hydrangeas. The best man was Mr. Sydney Neville Noakes; brother of the bride. The little girl wore a dress of the white silk voille, made with a yoke and fichu of chiffon ; skirt hanging straight from the yoke, and two narrow frills round the bottom of the skirt; fancy straw hat trimmed with white chiffon bows and tucked round the brim, with one pink hydrangea under the side. She carried a small basket of lilies-of-the valley. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a complete set of hammered silver for her dressing table; the bridegroom's present to Miss McArthur a pair of field glasses; to the three other grown-up bridesrmaids, handsome silver - mounted mirrors; and to the little girl silver backed brush and comb ‎(hammered silver)‎. The bridegroom's present to the best man was a case of silver - mounted hair brushes, clothes brushes and shaving brushes. The bride's present to the bridegroom was a case of silver- mounted hair brushes, clothes brushes and shaving brush, of hammered silver. The reception was afterwards held at Selsdon Park. The bride's going-away dress was duck's-egg blue voille ; bodice of same coloured embroidered silk, with white chiffon front and tie, and deep belt of black panne with small paste buckles ; black straw hat trimmed with black and white feathers, cream lace and white rnses. Dr. and Mrs. McArthur after- wards drove straight up to London, where they have taken a flat, and will be there till they leave for Australia in September. Upon his return it is Dr. McArthur's in- tention to commence practice, in Collins Street, Melbourne. The bride's mother wore a handsome dress of black piallets on net over a petti coat of white-satin, toque of duck's-egg blue chiffon, embroidered sequined swallows and white feathers; shower bouquet of roses; presented by the bride groom.
